St Bart’s is more than just a church for a wedding. We can provide the following as part of a package for you:
- Organ, choir, bells to enhance your service
Flowers at highly competitive prices by our experienced team led by Joy Howard. The team always try to ensure your vision comes to life when decorating the church. - Halls for your Reception, either the Oak Room, the Church Hall or both!
- Suggested suppliers to help cater and decorate the halls for your special day. This include photographers who already know the St Bart’s procedures, chair decorators, and more!
As part of your wedding preparations at St Bart’s, you are welcome and invited to come to our marriage preparation course. It is not compulsory but many of our couples find it helpful in starting the next phase of their life together.
As a walk through your big day we offer you a rehearsal a few days before your ceremony. This means that all the key people involved in the ceremony can have peace of mind of what happens on the day.
Our current 2023 prices start from £646 for a wedding with no music, £1208 for the wedding with music, bells, and church choir. Our Oak Room or Church Hall can be hired for £600 each. Feel free to get in touch to discuss what you would like at your wedding day.
We hope you will consider St Bart’s as your venue of choice for your special day. Whilst we would love to marry everyone, Church of England licensing laws mean you must be local to St Bart’s or have a connection to the church, such as you or your family were baptised / confirmed / married / have ever lived in Penn. Do get in touch if you are unsure about this.

Sarah & Ben
Sarah and Ben got married at St Bart's in 2018. Ben had been baptised and confirmed and St Bart's and grew up in Penn. After meeting at university they both came back to Penn and knew that they wanted to get married in St Bart's.
The two chose to attend the preparation class. "It was run by another couple from St Bart's congregation, and there were other couples are age there also preparing for their big day. It covered topics that gave us opportunity for reflection on how we would tackle things both in the run up to the wedding and once we were married. We would definitely recommend it, plus there was good hospitality from Joy too!"
Being a bellringer herself having the bells ring for the day, as well as a choir, were both important for the couple. For the flowers, they had a vision of what could work that would match their reception theme and bouquets and the team led by Joy perfectly created these. "The church looked stunning, even in the hot weather".
Reverend Ben guided the couple on choosing readings, hymns, and ensuring the Order of Service was all correct for guests.
Despite being unusually late due to a bad mix of hot weather and old cars, the team at St Bart's were unphased and ensured that guests were comfortable, and that they knew the bride was actually on the way! Both the couple and guests all thoroughly enjoyed the service.
"We would highly recommend St Bart's as a place to get married, the team are so supportive and guide you through the process easily."
