Below are the details for our next Penn Climate Action meeting, where we are lucky to have Cllr Steve Evans, Cabinet member for the environment and Climate Change tell us about how the Council is acting both to reduce the effects of Climate Change and to reduce its contribution to Climate Change.
We also have an exciting update on the Community Orchard which has moved another step closer to becoming a reality.
Can I also ask if anyone would like to join in staffing a table in Dudley street, near MacDonalds on 4th September? We have a table 10-3 to raise people’s awareness of the importance of divesting from fossil fuels. People will be asked to sign a petition, write or paint a post card, asking the West Midlands Pension Committee to divest the 320 million that they still have invested in fossil fuels. They divested £200 million last year, and we hope to support them in continuing to refuse to contribute to Climate Change. Please email Pennclimateaction@hotmail.com to get involved. Very Best Wishes, Carol
The Well Foodbank:Particularly needed right now are tinned vegetables of all kinds, especially tinned potatoes, tinned fruit, rice pudding, any other tinned puddings, rice and pasta sachets, toiletries, large size nappies. Other tinned or dried items also welcome. PLEASE AVOID out-of-date items, opened packets & fresh foods, as these cannot be used. If you would like to help please add your donation to the trolley at the back of church and it will rapidly find its way to someone in need.

Life group request:We are collecting picture postcards for the charity Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). The postcards are sold and money raised helps the work of this charity. The picture postcards can be of any age, but need to be whole, not the stamps cut out of them! There is a box at the back of the Church in which to place the donated postcards. Thank you.
MAF and its partners provide help, peace, joy and love to isolated people across the developing world, they will provide disaster relief when devastation happens. It is an amazing charity.

We have had a fantastic response and we will be in touch very soon with planning the way forward. If anyone still wishes to put their name forward, there is still time.We need your full name, phone number and email address if you have one. Take care and May God Bless you, Donna.

If you want to learn more about the Christian faith, this is a fantastic course that follows the church year, so what we discuss on the course enhances what we are hearing about on a Sunday in church. If you are interested please speak to Rev Ben, Rev Alison or leave your details with the Parish Office.

Calling all Sidespersons, Readers, Intercessors!
After 18 months of having only a limited number of staff carrying out these roles, we have decided that in October, it would be lovely to go back to having Sidespersons, Readers and Intercessors on duty. We would love it if all our wonderful team returned to fulfil their roles. I am currently putting together the rotas for the months of October, November and December. If you wish to be included on these rotas, please speak to either Cath Pugh or myself, telephone me on 01902 337478 or email me at annegedwards@yahoo.co.uk
We should also be delighted to welcome new members onto the team. We are a very friendly group of people and will help you in any way we can. Now is a very good time to consider offering your services to God and St Bart’s as a way of thanking God that St Bart’s has continued to be open for worship, whenever we were able to come to Church.
The more people we have on board, the fewer times you will be on duty. Generally duties normally occur about once a month.
Thank you and God BlessAnne Edwards, Church Warden.
LITTLE ACORNS PLAYGROUPHELPERS NEEDED!!!
We are looking for a small team of helpers to set up all the activities and toys for our playgroup during term time only, either from 9.30pm on a Monday night or from 7.30am/8.00am on a Tuesday morning. It will not take long to set-up if we have enough helpers, and if anyone would also like to join our team in helping our Little Acorn's during playtime, that would be a fantastic help and support to our team and church. Our group will hopefully start running again from the 14th September 9.00am until 11.00am term-time only. If you would like any more information, please call Donna Williams on 07546527300. Thank you & God Bless.
