The Well

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your donations which were gratefully received by The Well this week - as a reminder we are still in urgent need of all food products except for pasta, biscuits and cooking sauces so that includes baby foods and toiletries, pet foods, adult toiletries, cereals and tinned items of every sort. If you are on your travels and stay in accommodation with toiletry freebies but won't use them, please remember they can be used by us, as can excess fruit and vegetables from gardens and allotments. Food for thought - what do you put in a parcel for an individual/family who might only have a kettle/microwave where they are staying - this is not an uncommon problem! 'It is in giving we receive' - Kay Stokes - The Well food trolley is located at the back of the church by the door leading to the Oak room.         http://thewellwolverhampton.co.uk

salvation!  For anyone and everyone. For further details, please chat to Rev’d Alison, Rev’d Ben or leave your details with the Parish Office and we will get back to you.

Friends of St Bartholomew’s and St Anne’s

The ‘Friends of St Bart’s and St Anne’s’  are holding a Musical Social Evening on Saturday  23rd September 2023 at 7.00pm in the Church Hall.

The musical entertainment will be provided by Geoff Gooding and his friends. Many of you will know Geoff as he plays in our band in Church and also performed regularly at the Pigot Arms in Pattingham. (There is a poster in Church giving more details).

The cost of the evening will be £5.00 per person. Please feel free to bring along your own food and drink. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available.  We will have an interval during which time the raffle will be drawn. Please support us by buying tickets for this. If anyone wishes to donate prizes for the raffle, we would be very grateful. This event is “Pay on the Door” but if you can let us know that you wish to attend that would help greatly with seating arrangements, or if you wish to donate raffle prizes please contact either –

Sue in the Parish Office on 01902 576809, or Anne Edwards on 01902 337478. (Anne will also be able to help with any membership enquiries.)

Opportunities to pray with others

Daily Morning Prayer This regular short service (about 20 mins) of prayers and bible readings takes place in the Lady Chapel at 9am every day except Sunday.

On Wednesday it is a communion service.  A lovely way to start the day by focusing on God in the company of others.

Friday Prayers This group meets fortnightly in the Lady Chapel 4-5pm on Fridays, and will start again on 8th September, after the summer break. It is an opportunity for quiet prayer, for the requests on the prayer board, and other issues known to us, to support the ongoing ministry of the church and the needs of our community. You will not be expected to pray out loud (unless you want to). Each session is gently guided by a group member. Drop in when you are able.

WhatsApp Prayer Group The group members share prayer requests which they are aware of, via their mobile phones, and pray in their own time. The group enables immediate prayer in emergencies, and ongoing support for situations of concern. It allows people who may not find it easy to meet in person, to share in the prayer ministry of the church.

If you would like to know more about any of these, please speak to Janet Shackleton or one of the clergy. We would love you to join us.
